Understanding Project Ownership in SMVRT Legal

In SMVRT Legal, the user who creates a project is the Owner. The Owner has full control over the project and manages permissions for collaborators.

Permissions

Owners can assign two types of permissions to collaborators:

  • Viewer – Can view the document but cannot make changes.
  • Editor – Can edit the document and add comments.

Sending Documents for Signature

Only the Owner can send a document for signature. Documents cannot be signed until the Owner initiates the "Send to Sign" process. This ensures all comments, edits, and updates are finalized before signing.

The Owner must send a "Send to Sign" request for any document to be legally executed.
